important! - avatars on new 4um

Postby Moderator » Mon, Aug, 17, 2015 12:19 pm

dear all,

as you have noticed, the forum has a new skin
and is now 'vulnicura' themed

although no major changes were made in the process
the forum seems to have changed servers
which in turn meant a loss of everyone's avatar

i suggest to everyone who would like to their avatar to be displayed
to go to the "user control panel" at the top of the page
and re-upload their avatar under "profile > edit avatar"

i know this an inconvenience
but currently the only solution

in the meantime i do hope you enjoy yourselves here
no further adjustments to this site are planned at the current moment

talk soon,

mod

i have a quick question mod, not relating to images.
How come the forum doesn't seem to accept capital letters? is there a preference thing we have to sign off on?

someone posted a thing (not sure what to call it  ) in the new 4um thread I believe that changes the background to a gradient and allows you to use caps

Hi, I've made that style and if you have any feedback or suggestions, I am collecting them for perhaps a 1.1 version if necessary.

Love, Meta.

My boyfriend and I have updated the 4um style, he made a lot of new, clearer, icons and I added some darker text. Hope you like it!

Still found here:

I am still collecting feedback, so you can PM me, or write it here.

Hi i am new here!

When I upload the picture that I want of my avatar, I have to make it 100 x 100 and this makes the image very grainy and bad. But everyone on here has gokd quality? Can amyone give me some tips on how to make the avatar look better? Thanks you! :)

hi there! welcome to the forum!

what I did was use the "link off site" field and found the URL of a photo i wanted to use (or you can upload your own photo to an off site photo host), then post the photo link in that field...then hit submit.

also make sure to update avatar dimensions area as well 100x100 is max. Even with the avatar being so small...uploading that way should allow for a clear pic. :)
