Do you think she'll dedicate DI to anyone when she plays in Belfast? :-0

Did she dedicated DI especially for Basque in Bilbao and Madrid???? I don't remember anything that was told about that last summer....

Yes, because the Spanish are more tolerant when it comes to other people's views.

Let the woman take whatever side she wants, for crying out loud. What the fuck...

Maybe... but there's also fact that she said it two days after declaration of independence for Kosovo while emotions on both sides were too sensitive. Bad moment, that's for sure.

Also, is there anyone who can confirm that she cheered for Basque?

She randomly cheer for independence just cause she have song about D.I.. Blah. duck

Well, theres a pattern now...so I'd guess she would.
Should be interesting if she continues the trend....lots of drama will follow I believe.
Next maybe we'll see her in some really interesting countries in Africa posing with armed people that are fighting for their independence!

Surprised

I share that thought too.
Seems as scripted as her "headbanging" and metal fist does during Pluto.

Hey, I just remembered....she's in China....time to dedicate DI to the Tibetans! Smile I can see her doing it too. She'd get kicked out and be all over the news!

Just kicked out?
Maybe she will be detained a couple weeks for questioning!
Now, if that happened, I'd literally roll on the floor laughing...

Yep...any press is good press.

Oh yes, I remember the Spanish Inquisition was a tolerance movement! Smile Joking aside, people are tolerant or intolerant depending on their greed anger fear or how close to traumatic events they are....Yes we should all live in peace and not care what Bjork wants to cheer...its just fun to see her cause a stir though Smile

Maybe she should formally ask the Chinese to free Tibet. She's so cute wouldn't you just give in to her? Chinese government: "Aww, gosh-darnit, OK we'll free Tibet. Can you just do that little brow furrow again for us, Bjork?"

Again, it has nothing to do with taking sides (on my part at least). It's turning an event that could instigate a new war into a joyous cheering on stage.
As more time goes by, I realize how she didn't mean to be a hardheaded punk by any means; she didn't have bad intentions. And I understand her scandinaviesque view on these things, which is sweet. But although I don't support the cancellation, it is the organizer's estimation that it might provoke some individuals there, due to the fact that many suffered tremendous losses in regard to Kosovo - the thing that separates it from some independence movements mentioned here. Silly and unrelated I say, but i can't blame the organizers.

I'm from the Basque Country and this is not true. Björk only said Eskerrikasko between Oceania and DI, which means Thanks in Basque Country's language, Euskera. It was a beautiful moment for all of us and the crowd went crazy, but she didn't dedicate the song Wink

Yeah, I didn't really believe that article, coz then we'd have probably known about it here - it would have cought some attention for sure.

Can you spot a pattern then? I can't. Razz

Doubt it... she didn't pose with any armed Mohawk people fighting for independence in southern Ontario when she came to Toronto, or ETA in Spain...

b-logo shouted "Kosovo, Kosovo" during the Tokyo gigs last week, in approval of the fledgling independence. It is not only fledgling, but tumultous, so the organizers of the EXIT festival in Serbia (where she was supposed to play this July) cancelled the gig, due to the unstable situation in Serbia regarding the secession.

It would seem this entire Volta era has been steeped in controversy.

Questionable contests, little camera annoyances, ripped shirts, fan love apathy, dried-up discography (singles, that is), and now Declare {False} Independance.

Neccessary Voodoo indeed.

Still exciting though. Mr. Green
